Blackheads are an absolute nuisance. They make the skin look rough, spotted and dull. It in fact affects your confidence as you approach people. You have tried all sorts of blackhead scrubs, blackhead strips and generally tried popping them out with tweezers, but to no avail. Blackheads are your reality, and they stay as is.

The ills of having blackheads on your face can range from oily, rough skin, acne, and dark spots, because lets face it, these blackheads are nothing but clogged hair follicles that are filled with bacteria, excess oil and dead skin cells. They are stubborn and don’t come off very easily, and even if they do you are never fully free of blackhead problems. Often you end up peeling off your skin or bruising it in an attempt to get rid of them with your fingers.

Toothpaste to remove blackheads?

Ditch doing that from today. We share with you an absolutely original and effective method of removing blackheads in a matter of minutes with just one ingredient that every home doubtless stocks. The toothpaste. Yes, you read that right, all you need is a plain toothpaste, not the gel variety or those for sensitive teeth, the regular plain white toothpaste preferably with a peppermint flavouring.

Why Toothpaste?

This is an expert recommended DIY as toothpaste contains ingredients such as hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, witch hazel and baking soda that instantly dries out the acne and the infected pores. Now if you have a sensitive skin, watch out, you might even have an allergic reaction. Otherwise, this is the easiest way to get rid of them blackheads.

How to Use:

In a small bowl, take one part toothpaste and one part baking soda, combine them together. Add a few drops of water to the mix if it is too thick, and make it a paste of even consistency. Baking soda is a natural abrasive, it helps remove dirt and dead skin cells instantly.

Then wet the tips of your finger and massage your face, apply a little more force on the blackhead zone to remove the trapped oil, hair follicles and all the dirt. They will come off like magic. Rinse off with cool water, and run an ice cube over your face. This will help shut the pores back, otherwise it will attract more dirt. Round up by moisturising your face with a gentle day cream and you are good to go.

Repeat this ritual thrice a week for two weeks, and all the blackheads would have vanished from your face.
