Our feet are the least looked after part of our body. We take time out to nourish our skin, apply face packs, scrubs, look after our hands with fruity hand creams and nice manicures, then our hair with shampoos, conditioners and neat haircuts, but our feet hardly get the same treatment. Until things turn out of control by way of cracked or hardened heels and skin peel, we never think of doing anything about them. Even so, it is not practical to run to the salon for a pedicure every time you want soft feet that look great in those peep toes or flip flops.
Pedicures are expensive, involve a great time investment and cannot be done on the go, why not then resort to some homemade DIY pedicure scrub to clean your feet and make them supple and soft?
For this reason, we propose a 2-ingredient pedicure scrub made of milk and baking soda to scrub the dead skin and dirt off your feet.
Milk is a great moisturiser, while baking soda has wonderful antiseptic properties that fight bacterial and fungal infection on your heels. It also helps cut the hardness and dullness of your toes and heels, eventually healing the cracks.
Ingredients:
3 tbsp Milk
2 tsp Baking soda
Method of Preparation:
Tip the baking soda into the milk, immediately due to its alkali effect the milk will thicken.
Now take this mixture and scrub your feet well, particularly around the heels which take the most brunt. Scrub on the top of your feet as well to remove the tanning and dead skin cells.
Leave the scrub on for about 10 minutes. Then rinse off your feet with warm water and apply a nice foot cream. Instantly your feet will feel clean and soft. Repeat this ritual thrice a week for one month if you have cracked heels and see the result. You won’t ever need a pedicure again.
