How many times have you felt the need for a quick facial that will make your skin glow in 10 minutes? Just the way they show in television commercials. Unfortunately, those expensive face packs you buy on the market never quite replicate that magic.

It is really frustrating to not have a beauty product that will do the trick – give you a fair, glowing complexion almost instantly. Today we suggest two exotic facial packs you can make at home with some readily available kitchen ingredients. No one would ever believe you made these lush, gorgeous face packs at home and got a perfectly glowing skin overnight. Do try, we say.

Rose petal face pack

Ingredients:

A bowl of red rose petals

1/4 cup chilled milk

4tbsp Rose water

2tbsp Kaolin Clay

1tbsp Honey (optional)

whiteskinfacemask

Method of Preparation:

In a blender add the rose petals after washing them thoroughly. Tip in the milk and rose water, and blitz into a liquid paste. Add to it the kaolin clay, also known as China clay or white clay, available at most departmental stores. Blend well into a thick, light pink colour paste. You can add honey to the mix if you have a dry and sensitive skin.

Now prep your face by cleansing with rose water and then apply the rose petal face pack with a makeup brush in upward motion. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and rinse off with cool water. Do this thrice a week for about two weeks and your skin would look fairer and glowing.

Rose petals are fortified with Vitamin B, C and A that help impart a pinkish glow to your skin and the antioxidant properties of rose petals help regeneration of the skin tissues and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. While kaolin clay used across cosmetics is a popular skin whitening agent, in fact more popular than sandalwood powder. Its oil absorbing property makes it a great skincare product that also helps remove impurities from the pores. Milk in the pack nourishes and moisturises the skin by making it soft and glowing.

Beetroot face pack

Ingredients:

6-7 Peeled beetroot slices

2tsp Oats

2tbsp Yoghurt

2tsp Kaolin Clay

beetroot

Method of Preparation:

In a blender, blitz the beetroot slices, oats, chilled yoghurt and kaolin clay into a creamy consistency. Your delicious, dark pink beetroot face pack is ready for use. Cleanse your face with rose water before applying the face mask. Use a cosmetic brush and apply it in upward motion in a thick coat.

Leave it on for about 15 minutes and using a wet cotton pad gently remove the mask in a circular motion. Rinse off your face with cool water. Repeat this ritual thrice a week for two weeks, and you face will have a pinkish glow naturally.

The primary ingredient of the face pack is beetroot because they are rich in vitamins and antioxidants. Also owing to its anti-inflammatory properties it makes the skin youthful and improves the skin tone. Oats, on the other hand, is a wonderful natural exfoliator than scrubs the dirt and grime from the pores making the skin glow. It is also a natural skin lightener. Yoghurt in the mix due to its richness in lactic acid helps lighten skin tone and fights skin ageing. And we already know the benefits of kaolin clay.

Use these homemade face packs and you will never again have to go to the salon for a facial.
