Tomato is a magical ingredient in curing all skincare problems. From acne, reducing oiliness of your skin, fighting signs of ageing, maintaining skin elasticity, removing dead skin cells, reducing the levels of toxins and deeply cleansing, to lightening your skin tone and giving it a natural glow, the benefits of the humble tomato are many. How about then making a home facial using the tomato? You won’t need to go to the salon again; at home prepare an easy tomato cleanser, tomato exfoliator, tomato bleach and finally a tomato facial.

The ingredients required to make these are readily available in your kitchen, and you can put it together in a matter of minutes. Here’s how to use tomato for your home facial routine.

Step 1: Take one large, fresh tomato and puree it in a blender, and set aside. Do not add any water.

1 tbsp Rose water

Method of Preparation:

1. In a small bowl, blend together the tomato puree and rose water.

2. Soak a cotton pad in it and cleanse your face and neck thoroughly with the mix.

3. All the dirt and dust from your face will come off.

4. You can do this everyday for best results.

2 tsp Sugar

Method of Preparation:

1. Blend the sugar and tomato puree well in a bowl.

2. Using your fingers scrub your face for 2-3 minutes in circular motion.

3. This helps remove skin cells and even sun tan.

4. Rinse off with cool water.

5. Do this twice a week for a clearer skin.

Tomato Bleach

Ingredients:

1 tbsp Tomato puree

1/2 tbsp Honey

2 pinch Turmeric

1 tbsp Lemon juice

Home facial

Method of Preparation:

1. Take a bowl and blend the tomato puree, honey, fresh lemon juice and turmeric thoroughly till they form a thick paste.

2. Apply it generously on your face and neck, particularly over the areas that have open pores or acne.

3. Allow it to dry for about 15 minutes.

4. Rinse off with cool water.

5. You can do this twice to thrice a week for better results.

6. Tomato home facial is a natural way to bleach the skin. It will also lighten your skin tone and make your complexion even.

Skincare Benefits of Tomato

Tomato has high levels of Lycopene, an antioxidant that protects the skin from harmful Ultra Violet rays, fights early signs of skin ageing like wrinkles and fine lines, and even protects it against skin cancer. Tomato being rich in Vitamin C and A makes it a natural astringent with cooling properties. Little wonder, it makes for a natural skin cleanser. And owing to its bleaching properties it helps lighten the skin tone and even reduce open pores.

Try this tomato home facial today, and do it for two weeks. Your skin will be clear, spotless and glowing, naturally. Share with your friends if you find this useful.
