Why do people get rashes on their right side and not the left? Why do people suffer from pain on the left side of their back and not the right? The answer to these commonly asked questions is that the right side of our body is completely different from the left. And as we come up with various conjectures, it is commonly believed that sleeping on the left side is beneficial for our body and affects our longevity too.  So, here are a few scientific reasons you should sleep on your left side.

1. Priority system of the body

According to various theories, congestion takes place in body according to a certain pattern and priority in the body. In the priority system of the body, the lymph is body’s first detox system to congest. The early lymph issues may be present in the left side of the body and hence it leads to better congestion.

2. Helps to improve digestion

Sleeping on your left side helps to improve digestion. Lying on the left side of your body allows food to move smoothly from the large intestine to small intestine thus improving the bowel movement in the body.
