Those very eggshells we mercilessly junk into the bin after extracting the egg are actually loaded with calcium. About 90% calcium to be precise, aside from being a natural source of minerals. Being the same chemical composition as human teeth or bones, our body easily absorbs calcium.

Calcium is very essential for strong bones, it not only prevents osteoporosis by making the bone produce blood cells, but also helps treat high blood pressure and high cholesterol. And the magical eggshells we so readily discard are actually packed with so many vital nutrients such as zinc, iron, copper, manganese, fluorine, chromium, and phosphorous among others.

In light of these amazing health benefits that the eggshell is capable of, experts advise consumption 1.5 to 3 grams of the crushed eggshell everyday. But we don’t know how to use these, do we?

Here are some amazing ways you can actually consume eggshells and give your body a natural shot of calcium. It is really very easy.

For strong bones and blood purification

Collect 5 eggshells. Then wash them thoroughly. Crush them into a powder and soak them into about 3 litres of water. Refrigerate this mix for about a week before drinking it just like drinking water. Use about three cups daily for maximum benefits. Add a squeeze of lemon to the water if you so desire.

You need 8 eggshells for this. Thoroughly wash and then crush them. Now squeeze the juice of 2 lemons over the crushed eggshells and allow it to refrigerate for about two days. The shells would have softened by then. Strain the liquid and add to it a litre of brandy and a 3 tbsp of honey. Again let the mix steep for a whole week. Post which you can consume a teaspoon at least 4 times a day after your meals.
