What we think is love often falls in the periphery of lust. And we don’t even want to think anything about lust. We are so starry-eyed when it comes to matters of the heart, that we imagine everything falls in the purview of love. In truth, it is the subtlety of the emotion that makes it so beautiful, so larger than life, like dew on grass, a sense of attachment in the detachment. Love is all that and more, and then there is lust too which is of as much value if not more. While we shy away from identifying with it, lust often gets in the way, just as naturally as love.
Here illustrator and animator, Karina Farek, shows us how to tell the two apart with some candid illustrations of moments from our everyday life. So simple, yet so apt. Which one is you?
1. You only know her only too well
2. You never remember what was so funny
3. How you imagine spending time alone
4. I’ve got your back
5. What makes her so beautiful
6. How bad you wanna love her?!
So, what is the emotion you experience more often?
