Baking Soda Shampoo: Stops Hair Loss, And Makes It Grow Faster

DIY

If there is one versatile ingredient that can be used for a bunch of things such as skincare, cooking and hair care, it is baking soda. Aside from being a natural exfoliator and cleanser, baking soda can actually give you thick voluminous hair with a natural shine. It is the most natural recipe to get healthy hair at home, and takes very little effort. In fact you can even make a baking soda shampoo at home. It is cost-effective and the results are admirable.

This is what baking soda does to your hair

Baking soda makes your hair thick and strong: Baking soda is a better cleansing agent than your regular chemical-laden shampoo. Usually the dirt and grime end up making a thick layer thus stunting hair growth. Baking soda removes all dirt and unwanted elements from your hair.

Baking soda removes chemical residue: We tend to use so many products on our hair, from serum, gels, sprays, leave-in conditioner etc. The residue leftover from one of these can make our hair heavy and greasy. By using a baking soda shampoo you can retain the natural glow of your hair.

Baking soda gets rid of chlorine: For those who love to spend a lot of time in the pool know that chlorine is detrimental to your hair. It leads to hair breakage, then hair fall, while it also affects the colour of your hair. Baking soda can save your hair and scalp from the after-effects of chlorine, and keep it soft and cleansed.

Here’s how you can make baking soda shampoo at home

Blend baking soda with water in a 1:3 ratio into a squeeze bottle. The proportion of baking soda to water should differ as per the length of your hair. For medium length hair, you need a teaspoon water and six teaspoon water.
